Art Mania Machine

This is a mini screen print vending machine featuring work by local artists. Artists were commissioned and paid to design the mini prints and CHP screen printed the work.

One Dozen Designs

From September 2020 to August 2021, a new t-shirt is released each month designed by local and national artists. Artists are compensated for their design work and sales generated go to support CHP’s continued efforts to provide artists with paid opportunities. Illustrator, Robert Young, designed artist trading cards to be included in the purchases of shirts that provide more information about each shirt designer.

Made possible by a grant awarded to John Boner Neighborhood Centers from the Lilly Endowment Inc. through their Strengthening Indianapolis Through Arts and Cultural Innovation initiative.

Create Indy

During the spring of 2019, 10 Indianapolis artists and designers worked with Cat Head Press to create custom images that were then screen printed onto paper and fabric goods. Artists were compensated for creating their designs and offered a free screen printing workshop to learn the printing process and become certified to use CHP’s cooperative studio space. The sales of works created through this project went to support CHP’s community and youth programming. You can still purchase some of the work made through this project on our shop page.

Featured Artists: Anna Martinez, Bianca Peña, Brit Fukushima, Claire Sweitzer Hawkins, Hannah Claire, Nick Gehlhausen, Niina Cochran, Shamira Wilson, Steve Moore, Zach Geyer

Create Indy project support was made possible by the City of Indianapolis Cultural Initiatives Fund, a fund of Central Indiana Community Foundation.

Art Fairs and Live Printing

Cat Head Press periodically hosts art fairs, inviting local artists to set up booths at no cost.  We also travel to outside fairs and events to set up live screen printing booths with the help of our mobile print van. Shoot us a line at info@catheadpress.com if you would like us to bring live printing to your event.
